Spore was a hyped and highly ambitious game that was released late last year. Spore allows players to create their own creature and nurture it from a cell. The player is also allowed to customize their animal and publish it to the EA servers, where they can be downloaded for free. The game brings the player through multiple game modes, beginning with the ability for the player to control an individual animal. The game then takes a drastic RTS turn in which the player strives for regional and then local domination. The "modern" world domination campaign allows the players to design their own vehicles. It would have been nice if more options for vehicles design could have been added, but its ok. The galactic campaign got repetitive and boring and was something I got into.
The graphics are mediocre in Spore and are nothing to talk about. The music too is ok but like the graphics, nothing wows you.
I was drawn to the game by its simple but complex gameplay. If you liked the Sims or are really bored and want to design something, Spore is highly recommended.
