Maybe spyro should of just stayed on the gba.

User Rating: 4.2 | Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly GC
It's spyro's first time on the gamecube and even though I havn't played the ps2 version, it probably isn't worth getting at all. The story is way to simular and boring. Ripto comes during a festival of dragon flies and steals them so spyro has to get them back. That's it. There arn't even any worthwhile cutseens adding on to the story. The controls are o.k. but could be a lot more responsive as well as realsistic. The graphics in spyro are lacking. Though most of the top graphics are done well there are almost no textures and several slowdowns even when you're simply just running. If that isn't enough then there is also loading times. If you were to beat this game in one day with everything almost 1 fifth of that would be waiting to load into something simple. The mouths of the character are no where near what they're supposed to be saying and while they may be talking about something bad a character may have somewhat of a happy expression on their face. The only graphics that actually look decent for the gamecube is the opening scene and the box art. The sound in spyro:EtDf isn't as well as it could be. All of the sound effects are either when you hit something, spyro is doing a move, or somebody is making a sound. Other then that it's repetitive, choppy, and even natural fire doesn't make much of a sound. I admit the voiceovers in this game are O.K. but in every level every person looks the same and sounds the same as well which makes you somewhat confused if this is your first spyro game. The musical score is spyro is poor. It doesn't sound good and could easily be put on the gba with no lost value. It's almost the same thing anywhere in a level and you think that in different areas they could tweak it to match a certain mood it doesn't it's always the same. If you play the game long enough on a certain level you'll realize everyonce in a while the music just stops and restarts which isn't a good thing because the game would feel just a little bit better if they just tied the music together. Spyro just isn't a fun game because most of the puzzles are easy and repetitive from another point in the game. You'll get bored with this game in 4 through 14 days even if you havn't beaten the game yet. There is no replay value in spyro's adventure, it just isn't fun going through something horrible twice and find that the puzzles are just as easy. Spyro has several characters brought back from his previous games but you see them once maybe twice and just isn't true to the series. If you want a platformer with a fun concept which is complete don't get this game. Get supermario sunshine or Tak. If you just like spyro and havn't boughten this game yet stick to his previous playstation and gba games, or even wait for his sequel. I really hope they put more into it than the box art.
