One of the Best Videogames Ever to Be Created
The story is about a young and sort of cocky dragon named Spyro. He is a young dragon in the Dragon World. After the dragons are trapped in crystal by Gnasty Gnorc, Spyro must defeat his minions that have the dragon's treasure and defeat the gnorc.
What makes Spyro so unique is its open ended game play. You have over 30 massive, well-detailed levels. The levels of the Artisan World somewhat resemble mountainous areas and grasslands, with lots of castles and architechture that is a medieval style. The Peace Keepers world has a desert style to it (excluding Icy Cavern). The Magic Crafters is full of mountains and magical-style architechture. The Beast Makers world is a cross between a swamp and a tiki-style jungle, with a mostly green color scheme. And the Dream Weavers world is magical like the Magic Crafters world, it's a very light and cool place. And finally, Gnasty's World, which is a metallic remote island which is gritty and unwelcome.
The designs of these amazing worlds and realms, combined with the very realistic graphics make this game look very nice. Stewart Copeland (the drummer from "The Police.") dues an excellent job composing a delicate score that fits each environment. His music is worth listening to in this game. His music certainly fits the game, no others could do such good composition.
The script and dialogue is well written and makes the story interesting. Game play is yet the funnest feature. Spyro isn't extremely hard nor is it easy, it's very fun and it keeps you busy, whether it's freeing all 80 dragons and collected 14000 worth of treasure.
The game is basically very good with so much to offer, and I keep going back to after conquering it, I just can't get enough of it. It's an epic adventure for a small purple dragon, on a PlayStation console. Highly reccomended for owners of PlayStation hardware. A masterpiece and a classic.
