A little flying, mostly platformer....but a great one.

First of all, this isn't a typical Star Fox game. However there is some flying, very little. Instead it's a great platformer. A very unique one at that. SFA is a beautiful game. So many colors and detail is really well done. You can even see the hair move on the characters, which is cool. Rare has a special technique I guess, I haven't seen any other developer pay so much attention to hair. Now as a platormer I would put it right below Jak series and Ratchet & Clank series, but just a little. SFA is a bit more aimed at youth than the latter. Puzzle solving, Voiceovers, especially graphics controls, everything is on par. Some of the biggest drawbacks would come from not having a jump button. If you come to a ledge you just have to push the analog stick to make Fox jump. I rather hit the jump button myself. The fighting system isn't the best, not bad, I would rather have more control over the fighting. Kinda plain. SFA is rather long, about 25 hours or so. It's been out a while so you should go pick it up for 20 bucks. Ya won't regret.
