Starfox in name only. Lylatwars was just more fun
but let us start with the good things instead: APPLAUSE for the graphics. you can count-i say COUNT- the hairs (or more often, scales) of every creature you come across. this gives you a nice feeling, and you can see this was not just some game wich took no time at all to create.
sounds are good as well, just not special. all is what you could expect, music isnt annoying, but not thrilling as well. its just plain good.
one of the most annoying things is the gameplay and more specific: the fighting system. if fighting a bunch of enemies, say four, the only one that will attack you is the one you targeted. the others just dance around looking their mate get his ass kicked. also weird is that you can't use your unbreakable shield ability when fighting. it makes the shield some sort of gimmick you dont use. and as well, every enemy you see is just too easy!
something else that makes this game easy is the 'advice' button on your communicator (pause) screen. you more looking at walktrhoughts for you, just talk to slippy, and he will say whatever needs to be done.
another bad gimick: the cheat tokens! you go trough a lot of trpouble to get these tokens and trow into the well, but its not much of a cheat at all! just some unlockables as the game's credits. its a big shame that it ws not something else.
now back too the good things: the story is just right! just the thing you needed for a big adventure. and about those enemies: i didnt mention the redeyes. these T-rexes have a great look onto them, and you should see it! the game is also quite variated. you can ride dinosaurs, control enemy cannons, fly in your arwing trough an meteorswarm and more!
so basicly, this is still a good game! its just not what you would expect from starfox. im a big fan of Lylatwars you know.
