Fun, fast action with great visuals though not really for older gamers.

Gameplay: The game plays well. Almost a Zelda replica but with slight differences. The combat is flashy but its all the same. Hit one button repeatedly and watch the acrobatic combo that follows. The puzzle solving is some what easy though it gets harder towards te end. The arwing levels seem to be just thrown in so theres not really much to them. Seemingly for the younger kids sake the game is quite simple and the puzzles only get challenging towards the end, though not to the point that you'd be stuck for hours trying to figure it out.

Graphics: Some of the techniques used in this are unmatched on the console. The real time fur is great and more than makes up for Fox's fairly low poly count. Also, the grass is not just a plain and simple green texture. You can see individual blades of grass and only when you zoom in with the first person view will you be able to see the cheeky technique RARE have used to render it. Its low polycount in the environment and in some of the dinosaurs, as well as some blurry textures are what keep this game from being perfect visually. Yet it is excusable for the most part for being an early release on what was a new system back in 2002 and there is hardly a drop in the frame rate which is incredibly smooth. A testament to RARE's ability to make a stunning looking game without any slowdown.

Sound: The musical score is very Lion King like and will definitely put a smile on young kids faces, especially the fans of the Lion King films. The voice acting is great especially on Fox and Tricky.

Value: This game plays out pretty straight forward and theres usually no reason to go back to a particular place again unless the story requires it to progress. Once you reach the final stages of the game you'll soon regret saving. There is a point of no return once you have retrieved the 5th Krazoa Spirit and saving after this point means that you won't be able to go back to the rest of the levels. Not that you would really have any reason to. But once you've finished the game, theres really not much point in playing it again. But to its credit it is fairly lengthy and will last the young ones for many long hours.

The game is worth a go through. For graphic enthusiasts its definitely worth the observation as some of the techniques used are incredible. It's hard to find now but should go for pretty cheap if you find a preowned copy. Definitely one for the younger kids to get into before a full fledged Zelda title.
