Somewhat a zelda clone, but nevertheless, an awesome title!

The second major starfox game(the first gamecube game) has lots of variety. You aren't just flying this time, because exploring has been mixed in to make it interesting.

The story involves newcomer crystal trying to help the dinosaurs on dinosaur planet. Early on, she gets captured in a huge crystal, unable to move. The evil dictator general scales has complete power over the planet, and the spirit stones and krazoa spirts have been driven from their home. Without the stones and spirits, pieces of the planet have drifted off into space. Now, it's up to fox to find the spirit stones and krazoa spirits, help the dinosaur clans in the different areas, and save the planet and crystal from certain disaster.

The gameplay has a new twist from the normal games, in the way that the game is completely free-roaming! When you start as Crystal, you discover just how different the game is from past ones. Crystal is only playable in the beginning; Fox takes over soon after. You follow the story, roaming from place to place and taking on the challenges and missions required. These missions could be anything: races, battles, timed exploration, etc. Everything is challenging and requires you to think, making the game more interesting. You also have a new weapon: a magic staff. Most of the time, you use this weapon to melee the many soldiers in your way. There are 3 combos, all effective and impressive to watch. You also gain power-ups for the staff, such as the fire blaster, ice blaster, ground quake, more space to hold energy, etc. You'll have to use all these tools to complete the various tasks. Of course, ship flying hasn't been forgotten. You are required to fly through a certain amount of gold rings to access the next planet fragment. Ship control is simple and the blasters work great. When you attempt to rescue a spirit, you go through a temple(they're different every time) with many hazards. After you get to the end, you complete a final challenge to take the spirit with you back to a palace where you release it.

The real feat here is the environments. Every place you go is linked to all the other areas, creating a huge planet to explore. Everything looks great, and the graphics are amazingly good. Plus, with no lag in the frame rate whatsoever, there is no frustration with loading time. You'll always be doing something while following the story, so there's always something to do. Music can be catchy and the boss fights and combat are creative and fun.

Overall, this is a great adventure game for anyone to enjoy. I recommend it to everyone. Enjoy!
