While the game is good on its own merits, Starfox: Assault is a not so great sequel to the predeccesor, Star Fox 64
To first start off, let's talk about the single player. Ok, the single player is alright and fun at first, but it's too short and the single player seems to have gotton worse since Starfox 64. One main problem of this would probably have to be the foot missions. I'm not saying that the foot missions are bad, I'm saying that they aren't nearly as fun as the arwing missions and the foot missions are the majority of the single player. Alright the graphics, the graphics in this game were good, a nice improvement in the gamecube. The graphics were as advanced as I thought they would be which is good. The replay value for the single player isn't that bad actually. The reason saying this is because for the single player there are many things to get. For example, each mission has bronze, silver, and gold levels where bronze is the easiest and gold is the hardest. People play the single player to try to get all the medals in all missions. There is also a survival mode where the objective is too survive all missions, but if you die once it's game over. There are also more but I'm not going to go into detail for that. The story is really good in the game though, these lifeforms called aparoids want to make a new world for themselves so they decided to take over people's bodies.
Now the multiplayer, IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I think this was Namco's main focus on the game. The mutliplayer is beautiful, fun, and extremely addicting and with all the new things added since Starfox 64 how could no one like this mutliplayer. All I'm saying is that only get this game if you love multiplayer games and you have a bunch of friends. If you want it only for the single player then rent the game only and it will be fun. I have nothing more to say about the multiplayer, it's just great.
