One of the best Star Wars games of all time!
Star Wars Battle Front has been called the #1 Star Wars game of all time, and for good reason. It combines all the massive battles of the Star Wars universe with easy-to-learn controls, for the ultimate Star Wars experience.
In the game you have two options: you can play through the main story line including the new and original trilogies, or go on a quest to conquer the entire galaxy one planet at a time. You can play as four armies: the republic, the rebels, the empire, or the trade federation (droids).
When you first enter battle both you and your opponent's army have somewhere around two hundred men. As the battle progresses and more characters are defeated that number will decrease. In the battle, you and the other members of your army will run around blowing enemy smithereens. In the battles there are two ways to win: either destroy every single enemy, or capture all the command posts (special locations that replenish your troops). You will fight with multiple weapons including grenades, sniper rifles, missile launchers and so much more. In addition you get to pilot over thirty new and classic Star Wars vehicles.
Though there main focus of this game is to squash your opponent’s army, Star Wars Battle Front is very tame compared to many other popular action games. When destroyed robots blow up, and people and aliens simply fall over. There is no disembodiment whatsoever.
For those of you who are familiar with “the force” controversy, (and are against the use of force in star wars games) you will be happy to know that this game contains absolutely no reference or use of “the force” (sadly, the same cannot be said for Battle Front Two).
All in all Star Wars Battle Front is a great game to add to your video game library.
