The most fun I have had with friends on my PS2!!!

This game is excellent! I have never had so much fun playing split-screen. The diversity of maps and the challenges they bring is excellent. The single-player is fairly weak, due to the lack of a campaign that is anything other than a collection of maps, with the same objective as any battle in the game; kill everything, or capture all command posts. The Galactic Conquest mode is very good, and I still find it hard to succeed as the Republic ... Due to my lack of online (give me my disc Sony!!) I have not played it on the network, but I often play it with a friend in split-screen, and whether we play against each other, or together, we always end up killing each other! The 4 factions are, essentially the same, unfortunately. There are 4 unique units, and then the pilots' weapon varies. Also, I have noticed some variation in grenades, and some units hav unique features, but it would be nice to have entirely different factions. The only faults I find are the way you can lose ;when only you and a teammate remain, if he dies, it is game over, even if you could easily finish off your enemy, but this is probably encouragement to protect your team-mates. The spacecraft is not very fun to use, due to the unintuitive controls, and lack of impact on the result of the game; if you spend the whole battle in the sky, you will almost certainly lose. It is the same thing with many other. I once racked up 40 kills with a sniper, and still lost. This can happen; you have a lack of choice; even if you think you can be 6 different soldiers, you will end up only using 2 or 3, because they are the only ones who are useful in combat situations. All the same, I loved this game, and I can't wait to get the second for PSP.
