Almost.
I have always loved star wars. I loved playing all the other star wars games that takes you through the main plot and has all the characters. If you have ever wanted to play a game about the common people or the troops who died so the main characters can progress, this game is for you. I love the idea of playing as a trooper on one of the random battles that riddle the Star Wars Universe. It delivers a uniqe idea but some of the problems with the games desigh stop it from acheving greatness.
The good.
Uniqe Idea. Playing as a random troop on the battle feild is a cool consept and something that I would like to play. Also working as a team and combinding skills and proffesions to kill the opposing team can lead to some fun game play. The levles are interesting and you can play through some famouse settings in the star wars universe. Even though your not, it looks like you are participating in huge battles. Your allies run around shooting enemies, while nutrals run around protecting themselves. The co-op is a fun edition and playing a game with a friend is one of my faviorite things to do. The sound and music are as always, top of the notch. Playing along with heros while not acturally being them is a cool idea. But I dont like how you cant kill them, or send them off the battle feild.
The bad.
Spawing is a terrible mess. The idea of the game ends up being its greatest falt as you lose the feel of the battle by standing next to a little light and waiting for it to change color. Im fighting a friggen war not trying to change lights! The spawing is terrible mess. You can be about to take a base and a enemy can spaw behind you and kill you. Also if you capture all but 1 of the bases. Every troop will spaw there and its just a terrible mess. Also, I wish there were battle objectives rather than just a type of cature the flag. The ships are also a terrible mess and nightmare. Think flying a tie fighter is cool. Think again. There weak, and get shot out of the air constantly. Impossible hard to fly. Flying feels like your piolt was a drunken frat boy. Overall- A very fun game for a while, its very fun with a friend and is highly recomended to any star wars fan. Not just for the Hardcore in my opinion. But if your looking for a shooter, there are better ones, but this ones not too bad. Rent it and you will beat it in a night.
