Now I REALLY want a PS2!
User Rating: 9.6 | Star Wars: Battlefront II PS2
Most PS2 games that I play with my friends are bad (My fault, not the game's) because they present unfamiliar control schemes to me, since I am a hardcore Nintendo fan, but this game is not only easy to pick up and play, but it just happens to have some of the most varied and fun gameplay ever. You can do practically anything that was imaginable in the Star Wars series, from hijacking a CIS tank to fighting Darth Maul as Luke Skywalker. The game is satisfying to just watch, as nothing is quite as fun to watch as a Super Battle Droid getting blown to shreds by a Heavy Trooper's cannon. Strategy also has a key role in this game, especially in multiplayer mode, where you'll tell your friends where to attack, if they should retreat, or if they should change to a different character. Each of the stages has its own place in my heart. The Coruscant stage, for example, takes place in space above Coruscant, which requires you to fly to enemy ships, navigate once you're inside until you've taken them over, and repeat in order to win. The graphics aren't perfect, but you'll be moving too fast to see any graphical shortcomings. The sound is a lot like the sound in the Star Wars movies, which is exceptional. The game isn't perfect, however. The camera is way too zoomed in, which will sometimes lead to a very frustrating defeat. This shouldn't keep you from playing this amazing game. This mash-up
of action, shooting, strategy, and platforming will no doubt entertain anyone who likes video games.
