Star Wars Battlefront II improves many aspects of the game but hinders itself from matching the calibur of BF1.
Why: Well, I havn't played it that long and I'm sure I'll end up playing it past 100 hours because it's a great game. However, several problems with the gameplay that I noticed bring this game down. For starters, many levels from Star Wars Battlefront are not present. Ren Var, Bespin. And even the levels that are present are a reworked confusing jumble of hallways and rooms that leave you frusterated with them. Simply put, the levels were fine, the developers didn't have to prove anything but now, they proved that Battlefront had far better levels than Battlefront II.
However, that's about the extent of frustration one might get. The levels (tedious as they are) can be utter joy to play in as the lazers are no longer slower than slugs, and playing as a jedi or hero character is insanely fun. Action is packed and battles are intense.
Graphics: 9
Why: Basically the same but SWBFII improves on the graphics enough to move the rating up a notch.
Sound: 9
Why: Definately good. The Star Wars songs are all there. The only problem I have with the sound is that the republic troopers no longer sound as they did when telling you that they lost a command post or not. Plus the Galactic Empire spokesman sounds utterly hidious. Again, another example of perfection that was scratched in trying to improve a game in departments that didn't need improving.
Value: 9
Why: Great game for Star Wars fans, or shooter fans alike. Great multiplayer, co/counter- operative for up to four players on the same X-Box! Now that's what I'm talking about! Galactic conquest is improved. Can play as jedi! (not my personal reason for buying a Star Wars game but watever.)
Reviewer'as Tilt: 8
Why: SWBFII is an overall fun game and is definately worth buying, but I'd keep the first BF as well simply because it was a great game too and no sense chucking it for this game when they both have enough things in them to make them shine on their own.
