A good FPS with a decent story that falls short in a few areas...
This game is definitely more of a multiplayer oriented game. The Singleplayer story is interesting and fun to play, but A.I. is just terrible most of the time with enemies and allies just standing around or killing themselves. The enemy sometimes will stay at a control point far off in the corner of the map when they should be defending the objective way on the other side.
You need to pretty much have aim-assist on with auto-aim because without this games controls aren't very good. I found it very hard to aim when the difficulty was on elite when compared to other games. But when you have aim assist on it's way to easy to slaughter your enemy, no in between difficulty here.
There are many additions that have been made to Battlefront 2 which help the game to be better in some ways when compared to its predecessor. The big one is space combat which is actually a lot of fun to do. There are various spacecraft that you can pilot such as the X-wing and tie-fighter. You can also do many different maneuvers to gain the edge over the enemy.
Other additions include objectives, sprinting, and new troop classes as well as levels and of course playing as a jedi. Objectives have been added to the traditional game mode to keep you more focused and to make the experience more varied and not as repetitive. Sprinting and turbo have been added to everything making getting from point A to point B a little easier. New troop classes have been added to all the different races if you want to call them that such as bounty hunters. New levels include episode 3 levels such Mustafar. Playing as a jedi isn't that special, they simply take longer to kill and jump high.
The multiplayer is very good. Xbox live seemed very solid with very little lag and lots of people playing. There's always splitscreen multiplayer for people without live and co-op.
Gameplay: Dumb A.I. and crummy controls.
Graphics: Pretty solid with only a few framerate dips.
Sound: Good sounding blasters and explosions plus star wars music!
So basically you should rent this first. It has a good story and it's a fun game especially online, but stupid A.I. and crummy controls hold this game back from achieving its full potential.
