The best FPS for ps2 if not the best game it's my favourtie for sure
If you are an fps fan you will want this game in your collection
And everybody should at least play this game
The Good
Different classes, enough new to make it a new game but not so much battlefront one fans might not like it , highly addictive with a lot of variety and things you might not have seen before.
The Bad
1st person shooting graphics are not the best (at least on ps2) the best battlefront maps have been left out (however some are available with Xbox live)
I have play this game for about 300-500 hours at least, I have had it for over 3 years and I still play it there is still online games even on ps2 where online is really hard to find and the new things are really new.
Space battles a new thing but you could tell Lucas arts did not know if they would be liked they can be skipped it the story mode. However there are 1million and 1 ways of fighting in them: dog fighting in spaceships, landing in the enemy hanger, destroying enemy ship systems or a mixture of all of them. the amount of points to play to can be changed, and details like watching ships being shot down crashing into capital ships are noticeable, but things like the smaller frigates moving around is hard to notice. There are so many things you can do like getting into turrets on your capital ship are harder to notice and you will keep finding more fun things.
It's not just space battles that have been improved. The campaign mode based on the clones betraying the republic then trying to rule the galaxy is dare I say thought provoking, and it makes the combat feel human and gives feelings about things that you don't think about in the movies. Instead of just battles like the instant action ones (how it worked on battlefront 1 with only 1 exception) they have been tailored to the story line. The only criticism here is they are hard to replay without starting it all again
Galactic conquest is much better with buying units and bonuses it feels a lot more strategic rather than just getting the hero bonus and keep using it there is a lot more involved
So there is a lot more I could say about it but I don't want to because that's basically battlefront 2, a brilliant game (battlefront 1) with a lot of more things to do that I don't believe any gamer owning the game could play for under 10 hours, and anybody who wanted (like me) could easily play for 100's of hours. So if you want a brilliant value game look no further, a word I have used a lot in this review is a lot and that seems to sum this game up nicely.
