All around better game than the first.
Rise of the Empire: This is an actual mission based single player campaign that puts you in the control of the clone army, (or as geeks would call it, the 501 infantry) You start out as a clone, but this campaign leads you through the clone wars and soon tells you how the clones became the storm troopers. It's fun and it gives you a chance to actually go out and complete objectives. Not just run & gun your way through a battle.
Galatic Conquest: This is probally my favorite part of Battlefront 2. This was in the first game, but now GC is more of a strategy game than a shooter. You take control of your fleet across a map and use credits you earn from winning battles to purchase upgrades or recruit troops. The opposing fleet does the same, when two fleets meet on the board, a space battle occurs. Victory is reached when you manage to conquer each planet on the map.
Instant Action: This is exactly the same as in the first game. Only now, you can play CTF against the computer, play Hunt, in which you take control of a planets native species or the enemies troops and fight off the opposing forces, or play Assault, where you fight it out against all playable hero characters. Instant action is the same as the first, but with a few improvements. Playable Heroes: This is the biggest addition to the game. You earn points by killing enemies and capturing command posts. When you reach a preset amount of points in a match, you are given the option of playing as a hero. The heroes change depending which map you're on and not all of them aquire a lightsaber. Some have blasters that give you one shot kills. They're all still fun to play and they definitely make a difference in the hands of a skilled player.
Space Combat: The final addition to the game is space combat. This is very fun to play, but each map is very similar to the others. You start out in the hangar of a capital ship and fly out to either fight other starfighters or destroy the enemies capital ship. To do this, you must fly into the enemies hangar and blow up specific targets with whatever explosives you have equipped. These targets each play a important part in the battle. For instance, you can't blow up the command bridge if its shields are up, so the shield generator would be your first target. But you can't get close to the bridge if there are turrets defending it. So you would have to take out the defense system too. This is all fun, but once you've played one match, you'll probally have no desire to go back and do it again.
Another small additions to the game that make a big differences are the ability to sprint and the ability to "slice" into enemy vehicles. Sprinting allows you to cover distances faster, which is a big asset to everyone who has played the first game. Although this takes away energy from your stamina bar, this bar slowly refills after you've stopped sprinting. Slicing is hacking into an enemies vehicle with an engineers fusion cutter and temporarily disabling it. The vehicle must occupied by an enemy in order to do this.
Well that's about it, Star Wars Battlefront 2. It's a great game and anyone looking for a memorable shooter and enjoyed the first game should definitely check it out. I hope my review helped. :)
