Despite a short campaign, and sometimes awkward controls, Renegade Squadron's multiplayer capabilities save the game.

The campaign is short and the controls are a bit awkward at times. It is not exactly a beauty either. However, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron boasts an extraordinary wealth of of multiplayer options that expand the playability tenfold. Traditional setups like "capture the flag" and conquest are there, along with more innovative "hero" based game modes. While most players gravitate to ground battles, when you can find a game dedicated to space combat, it is quite a lot of fun.

This is not to say that the single player mode doesn't provide a good amount of fun in its own right. This is mostly due to the "Galactic Conquest" feature where you side with either the Alliance or the Empire in a struggle to control about a dozen planets. This game mode incorporates an element of turn-based strategy to what is primarily a tactical shooter.

Star Wars Battlefront:Renegade Squadron is a must buy for anyone seriously interested some multiplayer fun on the PSP.
