A nice try, but could be a lot better.

User Rating: 7.5 | Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (Bundle) PSP
Recently, my brother let me borrow his psp, with a few games, of course. Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron was one such game. I enjoyed it, but I noticed a few things that could be much, much better. Please Note: I mostly played the galactic conquest mode.

Story: Star Wars needs no introduction. The Renegade Squadron, though, is a new idea to the Star Wars Universe. They are a group assembled by Han Solo, who do some of his dirty work. This really says as much of the story as I got through.

Gameplay: The gameplay really hasn't changed much since way back with Battlefront 1. A few new additions, such as being able to customize and choose your weapons, are greatly appreciated, but don't change much of the overall formula. Still, the gameplay is good, and should provide with plenty of hours of entertainment. The controls, however, are kind of strange. Also, the heroes gameplay isn't really worthwhile.

Sound: Basically the same stuff you've been seeing since, well, the movies came out. The theme blares out often, and the other world themes occasionally play. Every once in a while, though, the sound completely stops for a few moments. This actually happens quite often, and I don't think that it was meant that way.

Graphics: Pretty good for the psp, I would say. Some graphical glitches happen, though. But not as often as the sound glitches.

Overall:
Pros: Good gameplay; Galactic Conquest is addictive; Good graphics; I liked the space battles

Cons: Controls are, well, iffy; Music and graphic glitches abound; Story is kind of bad; Hasn't changed much since BF1.

EDIT: This does NOT cover the multiplayer modes.
