Not brilliant, but fun sometimes.

User Rating: 6.9 | Star Wars: Bounty Hunter PS2
How hard is it to make a solid 3rd person shooter? Just design some good levels, throw some enemy/weapon variety in, and there you have it, right? Wrong. Star Wars Bounty Hunter has the potential of being a great game. It has everything I mentioned above, plus some really high-quality cutscenes.
However, the good in Bounty Hunter is instantly drowned-out by the bad.

Combat usually resorts to hitting the square button as fast as possible, bounty hunting is a tedious chore, the enemy AI is extremely stupid, the frame rate sometimes buckles, and the voiceovers repeat way too often.

It's a shame, really. Platforming is really good, and once you beat the game, there is plenty of stuff that you can go back and unlock. Considering that it's currently only $18.00, perhaps you should buy this game if you are a big fan of Star Wars. However, with superb games like Republic Commando and Battlefront 2, perhaps you should spend your money on those instead.
