SWG has been transformed into a game that is not only boring and simplistic, but veteran players have received a slap...

Yeah. SWG is no longer playable. When I first joined this game, February 2004, it was deep, immersive, and full of diversity. That diversity is almost completely gone now. 9 Professions, no chance to change your mind later down the road (new players only, veteran players get 10 chances to change). You get to pick ONE profession, instead of finding a combination that works for you. Each profession is almost exactly the same, with different names instead of different content.

Veteran players get an Elder Title, Elder Robes for jedi, and an extra 10 combat levels. But this is not nearly enough to compensate for the fact that Veteran Jedi have spent well over a year grinding, playing, and mastering their jedi characters, and now a jedi is granted from the get-go. There is no difference between a light and a dark side character, other than factional alignment.

Ranged combat now rules all. Any ranged player can simply kite a melee target into oblivion. Role-playing has become nearly impossible with the new FPS style combat system. Any lag at all causes aiming defficiencies so terrible that it is impossible to kill anything that you are not 50 levels higher than.

High level content is nearly impossible, since group mobs now agro the first person to either hit them or draw into their agro radius. Because of this, that one person is dropped in a mere couple seconds, and then the next person is dropped, etc. Group members cannot lend any other help than to attempt out-killing the attacking mob. Where's the balance?
