Now, I haven't been playing since the "beginning" like alot of people have. At first I was only on the 14-Day Trial, I quickly became addicted to the gameplay, (pub 5-6 I believe) even though I didn't get to play for long. After that trial it was about 1/2-2 years until I played again, when they started the 10-Day Trial. I logged in to find that the game was a lot different than when I first tried it. I took the time to get used to the new system, and began enjoying it again right away. After that trial it was about a month before I could play yet again, a friend of mine had gotten a credit card, ( I had the money to pay, but no card) and I took advantage of that so that I could play for an extended amount of time, and really enjoyed myself doing so. I loved the game the way it was. I got to play for two and a half months or so, before I got the news about the NGE. I had a level 80 BH, with which I loved hunting jedi. (I figured, gotta keep the alpha class numbers down right?) After the NGE went live I noticed ridiculous amounts of bugs. I respeced to BH (duh) to test it out, and see how much they changed (besides the little diversity they left us with out of 32 proffessions) and boy was I surprised. I couldn't use any of my weapons. (which I spent LOADS of credits on) I figured "O.K. I'll just buy a new weapon until they fix this", but lo and behold, the bazaar isn't working correctly. After that I decided to check out the forums, and see what was in the works. I go there and find out that, they're planning on fixing the weapons, and bazaar problems, (YAY) but I also found that many people got shafted. One MAJOR problem with this, is the removal of item decay. (even though they left.. erm.. "Traders" in the game) What would be the use of crafters? The community was told, (amazingly after being left in the dark for an extended period of time) "Loot items will be better than crafted items" or at least thats the just of it. Seeing them do that, along with removing some of the more "fun" proffessions (Creature Handler :( ) pushed me very close to the edge of cancelling, but I was still TRYING to enjoy it the best I could. Then I found out that SOE waited until they got their money for ToOW, before announcing this travesty, (which they say was in production for a year, and then gave us 2 weeks notice before they make it live, bugged or not) which did it for me. The fact that they would even do this made me cancel. (regardless of if they gave refunds, everyone could tell they didn't plan to give refunds, until someone noticed what was goin on, as that is the way of SOE\LA) So in short before you say "All the naysayers are just angry vets!", take into consideration what YOU have missed. There were many a shading dealings going on, that you probably would have never known about.
