A honest opionion

I have played the game off and on from day one. A lot of opinions recentally are based on game changes which people in my opinion have a right to be upset about. The game changes which have taken place are to the extreme from what they were. There was no period of trial and error, no fixing bugs. This game was just forced on people without thought for the product a company was selling. SOE has not ever and will not ever give good customer service to this game., pure fact. Service issues are slow or never responded to. Game bugs (of which there are many) are never fixed.

If you like Star Wars and want a game which offers no real challenge then this might be the game for you. The "more Star Wars" feel you hear talked about is not true, unless you are referring to the nice pictures of Luke and Leia in the profession screen. You have no more interraction with them now then before this big change. Quest are often short and to me disappointing (I got a pen once for delivering a document 200m from my starting point.) So when a game says over 130 quest I have to ask myself how many of them are really worth doing?

The game as it stands now is not something I would recommend to a friend on it's merits of quality. It is full of bugs ranging from items which don't work as intended or targets you are shooting disappearing in the middle of a "quest" leaving you trying to figure out what the heck happened. The profession structure change went from over 30 professions to 8 with no room for changing or evolving a character. Anyone can be a Jedi from day one, this profession no longer offers any skill nor does it offer any sort of satisfaction of being able to say "I earned this". What used to take years (and yes years in a MMORPH game is acceptable) is now given. But the profession itself is now, currently the weakest in the game.

The game as it stands right now is good for the average 13 year old who spends weekends fufilling fantasies but in the long run unless Sony does some major changes it is not the kind of game which will keep said 13 year old interested beyond a few months.

My sugestion? Wait a few months before you play the game. Many people are saying try the 10 free trial but until the game is fixed and works properly you will find more bugs and problems with the game that might not make you want to try it again in a few months if/when the problems get resolved.
