SOE have created a disaster game. Not worth your money at all.
I have been playing SWG for over a year now. I didnt become addicted to the game until I fully understood it, and that took some time, but it was fun figuuring out about all the things. We had to spend along time looking for rare items, and we all had to work together to difficult missions, like the Death Watch Bunker for example.
In September my character finally made it to lvl 80. The highest you could go. I spent a month "grinding" ( going into fields and hunting creatures. Doing missions quickly to get your level higher ) and by the end it was worth it. I became a bounty hunter, a ledgendary job in the star wars films, universe.
After all that time, gaining levels, money, armour, weapons, and learning the best techniques for the game, SOE unleash another update. This update changes ALOT of the game. You are now in "near" 1st person mode. Where you just click enemies, and they die. Simple, Boring, and buggy as hell.
Ive never experienced a problem with SWG before, but I crashed twice in 1 hour. My framerate seemed to get worse, and for some reason, the graphics appeared worse in this new view.
People will be saying, It can't all be bad? Well what makes us long-time players mad is being able to START as a JEDI, BOUNTY HUNTER, and the best proffesions! Jedi was the ultimate profession, and we spent along time to unlock the proffesion, and went through challenging missions. Now anyone can start off as them.
The community in the game is famous for its friendliness. Iveplayed games like the Matrix Online, where everyone shouts at you, and you couldnt find a group without someone leaving. In SWG, the community stuck together. I made many friends on there. Together we would build a guild, do missions, and basically just havea laugh. There was basically no annoying players on SWG, and everyone looked out for each other. Now thats gone.
Many people have quit there accounts. I have done the same. If you want a MMORPG, do not waste your money on this, and go for a one like City of Heroes.
Congratulations SOE for taking the kiddies approach in gaming, MMORPG's were about stategy, and now thats gone.
