Astoundingly Buggy, Frustrating, and Underwhelming.

User Rating: 2.5 | Star Wars Galaxies: Starter Kit PC

I've played a few MMO's in my time; I'm not a hardcore fan of the genre, and I don't usually stick to one for more than six months at a time. But SWG was the exception. I stuck with it for a week.

SWG manages to seem enticing, being the most prominent (if not the only, I'm not sure) sci-fi MMO on the market. Don't let it fool you, though; you'll be sorry. Playing an oldie like Freelancer or X2 is much more satisfying.

To say SWG is buggy is like saying the ocean has fish in it. Not only is it blaringly obvious by just glancing at it, but there are huge schools of them just about everywhere you go. It seems like the developers just didn't care.

The graphics are sub-par, the combat engine is terrible, the physics are worse, there's a large amount of objects you can just _walk through_, and the lag is the worst I've seen in any game. Keep in mind that I have a high-end PC and all this still occurs.

I'll say this though; the characters made me feel like I'm in one of the newer Star Wars movies. They have bland dialogue and stand there like a piece of wood. Awesome.

At least the space combat was fun until my ship blew up and because of a, surprise, bug, I wasn't able to repair it no matter how many credits I payed.

This is by far the worst game I've ever purchased; don't make the same mistake I did.
