This is actually my favorite video game of all time. I just wish more people knew about it so they would make a sequel.

Well where to start. I've played the single player completely through five times. I've toured many websites devoted to buildling multiplayer universes around the basic game engine, then i've spent a bunch of time playing multiplayer.

WHAT THE GAME IS: Well, its a first/third person light saber swinging, real time shooter, with rpg esque upgrades to both weapons and force powers, and... lightsabers themselves. Aiming is involved in both ranged combat and lightsaber/melee combat. Movement is highly dynamic and can be incorporated into lightsaber moves for a very long list of possible attack combinations. The camera is fixed behind the player the whole time in rpg/mmo fashion, yet the aiming functions play like a shooter.

WHY ITS SO GREAT: Well, nobody has ever really made a game like it since. The combination of melee based aiming transitioning super smoothly into pure shooting, transferring smoothly into force powers has simply never been done so well. Its an absolute pleasure to be a jedi in this game. It feels powerful, awesome and effective. Awesomely, you get some absolutely brilliant enemies to do battle with and the result is a stunning and unpredictable blitzkreig with oodles of strategic possiblilities, yet still requiring keen twitch skills. Add onto that semi-linear story structure, a couple cool vehicles, some neat jedi-only puzzle solving, an engaging and amazing story, and incredible and at times even breathtaking level design. Its just that good.

WHAT I WISH WOULD HAPPEN: Oh dear god! Make a sequel please! It would be soooo easy to add a few powers, weapons, cook up some new levels, new enemies, and bring it up to date with modern graphics, and multiplayer. POW! This would be really great! So easy to do!

WHY THE OTHER SIMILAR GAMES FALL SHORT: Star wars battlefront - very limited jedi upgrades choices, Force unleashed - terrible camera angles, KOTR - turn based strategy turd, the upcoming star wars multiplayer - no aiming mmo power activation turd.

I guess it was the versatility and smoothness of this game which really boosted it into the stratosphere of awesomeness. The dark jedi were absolutely brilliant too, just filled with style and wicked purpose. Yeah, bring that back please.
