Welcome to the academy

User Rating: 10 | Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy PC
Well I would surely say that Jedi Academy is better than any of it's predecessors. The game is amazing to start of with.

1. Gameplay - Jedi Academy houses an interface similar to those encountered in Jedi Outcast or Dark Forces II, only this time it looks better due to the improvement in graphics. At the outset of the game you can choose from a variety of character races (all of them are aliens. I keep forgetting their names. I just remember that my character looked like Master Plo Koon, who was a Kel-Dorian male). You can customize their face, their dress and the color of the dress they wear. You also get to choose your light saber hilt and color. At the start of the game you can only wield a single saber set at a medium style of fighting. And most unfortunately you can't choose a red light saber (There is a way around it of course. You actually bring up the console using the tilde or ~ key by pressing Shift and the button. Then type "HelpUsObi 1" without the quotes, followed by an enter. Then type "sabercolor 1 red" followed by enter. For dual sabers type "sabercolor 1 red" and "sabercolor 2 red" or whuchever color you want. For saber staff type "sabercolor 1 red red". I personally used for the saber staff "sabercolor 1 red green"). Most of the game requires you to complete missions given to you by your master Kyle Katarn or the supremo Luke Skywalker. Each mission will provide you with a force point that you can choose to invest in the good side power or the dark side power. However this won't affect the outcome of the game as choosing a side will not be required before just the end of the game. Meaning you can invest all your forces in the learning of skills from the dark side and still end up with the good side of the force and you can also be nice for the entirety of your life and end up as the bad boy.

2. Story - You are a (well human if you choose one or an alien) named Jaden Korr who is on his way to Luke's academy, on a ship named Yavin Runner II. You meet a guy named Rosh Penin. However the ship crashes and Jaden saves Rosh only to find that there are a couple of Remnant stormtroopers. On investigation he finds Tavion (Jedi Outcast) extracting power. She sees Jaden and hits him with a power beam. Later on Luke tells Jaden that they were locating an ancient Sith Lord named Ragnos, and were calling themselves the Cult of Ragnos. The rest of the story is mainly regarding your investigation on the cult.

3. Music - Classic George Lucas style music. I have no more to comment on it.

4. Graphics - The graphics of the game is pretty decent, and definitely better than Jedi Outcast. Though not revolutionary, the game sure was up to the highest standards when it released.

A great game with an even greater gameplay and one of the greatest game universes is sure to rock you.
