A Star Wars Game set in a familiar world with not so familiar things about it

What do I need to say about this game? Game of the Year in 2005, and Star Wars, what else do we need? Not a lot I would say...This game takes place 20,000 years before the movies, in a time when the republic was struggling with the Sith empire. Star Wars: KOTOR is the story of a Republic soldier on a ship that is charged with protecting a young Jedi named Bastilla. After a ceratain series of events, the ship crash lands on the planet of Taris, and the main character quests to find the Jedi that was on the ship. Along with the help of the ships captain, they save Bastilla and begin an epic quest across the Universe to save the Republic from the dreaded Sith Empire. This game is an epic quest set in the Star Wars universe, with familiar settings such as Kashyyk, the wookie home world, and newer ones, such as Maanan, a planet almost completely covered in water. Planets are not the only similarity and difference between the movies and the game. You will encounter many creatures you are familiar with, such as Sand Creatures on the planet of Tatooine, and some not so familiar, such as Gammorian bounty hunters. The gameplay is live action RPG style, with many powers at your disposal, depending on the characters you use. You can have such skills as unlocking locked doors, breaking into security terminals, and activating security droids to help you defeat your enemies. The story itself will suck you right in, giving you the chance to make choices to travel the light or dark paths, and ultimately decide your destiny. This ability to make choices gives this game massive replay value, as you will be compelled to play again and again so that you may see all of the different endings and outcomes of the many choices you are allowed to make through the game. There are also many sidequests to undertake, such as being a lawyer for an individual convicted of murder, as well finding a cure to a disease running rampant over an underground village that turns the one who gets it into a vicious monster that has the sole purpose to kill anything it sees. All in all this is one of the most excellent Xbox games you will ever get to play, especially if you are into playing live action RPG’s, and love the world of Star Wars, because this is definitely one of the only Star Wars games that does the series justice. I highly recommend playing this game if you own an Xbox and are looking to get an excellent, worth while gaming experience, and the ability to choose to be good or evil will satisfy anyone’s taste, whether they seek to be a hero among the people, or take over the universe and rule it with an iron fist!
