An epic role playing game great as the liscence it is based upon.
With the Star Wars fanfare aside, the game boast about 40 hours of game play and from the beginning offers you three type of characters. As your adventure continues you will be offered three more. This is on top of the overall decision to be on the light side of the force or the dark side. So the game has a lot of replay value as character in the game will react different depending which side of the force you lean towards. The game will also play out differently because there is usually multiple ways to finish any quest.
The game also has superb visuals on and off the fight. There are many worlds to explore, each with its own beautiful scenary.
The sound is equally superb on and off the fight. Everyone you can talk to speaks to you. The game even suggest that if you want a more cinematic experience you can turn the subtitles off. The only annoying sounds could be the occasional alien talk. Which seem repetitively used and of course there is no way to make sense of it.
The fighting in the game is handled in such a way the for most fight you can enjoy the visuals your characters fighting. Seeing your character fight with light sabers, pistol and swords is always satisfying. This doesn't mean the game is devoid of challanges. There will be some fights where you will have to strategize and use your characters effectively in order to win some tough fights.
All this wouldn't matter if there was not a great story to back it up. Luckily not SW:KOTOR is probably the best part about the game. It has intrigue, suprises and everything you would come to expect from a good RPG storyline. The story also seems Epic because of the scope of the story. There is also a lot of depth because each character in your party has stories you can learn about. However this is left to your own discretion because you can simply just not talk to them if you don't feel like it.
SW:KOTOR is an excellent RPG for anyone.
