If you are a Star Wars fan this game is definitely for you, or if you like a good story, even if you aren’t a RPG gamer.
The story in the game is the best part. The main story line is great as it is with all its twist and turns with the big shocker about 4/5th through the game, which is just amazing. But then there are all the little side quests that can support them selves. They are so interesting that sometimes I forgot that my main goal was to stop the bad guy from achieving galactic domination.
The plot, simply put, is you start on a ship that is being attack by the Sith. You use an escape pod to get to the planet below witch is Sith control. Eventually you get off the planet and have to find clues on several different planets, most known to the Star Wars universe in the films, to help you find the location of something that possess a threat to the welfare of the galaxy. Much of the game is a mystery till the end of the game.
Then there are the main characters which are very well made. As you go through the game you learn more about the character and the history. There will be something to inform you when they want to talk about stuff. Eventually, after many conversations about them and their past, you will engage in a side quest related to their past. Some characters have more in depth conversations than others.
I find that the system used in the game works very well. The fight system is simple and easy to use and the in game menu works well. In the menu they have your inventory, equipped items, light side dark side stance, your character settings, dialogue history, side quests, and game settings. As for the light or dark side thing most of what you do affects it, conversation and actions. Which side you are affects many things. It affects the way people look at you and even the minor characters, but mostly the main character. They tell you things like how noble you are or how could you do that, but the few dark side characters that are in your party will encourage violence. Your side affiliation also affects how the game plays out, like some items can only be used by one side or the other. Which in turn affects some of the side quests, it doesn’t prevent you from doing some of the side quests but it would easier with those items. For example the best Jedi robe is restricted to the light side, which is one of my favorite items. Then there is the different ending of the game depending on your choice of sides. I played it through four times and found something new ever time and of course I try different things in the main story line.
Over all the game has a lot to it with all the people of the side of the road looking for help, there is much you can do. The characters are like real people with secrets, faults, and history. The planets are a good size and have very nice scenery with it, each having a distinct characteristic. The story is great and amazes me today after two years. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for more than just blood and guts.
