One of the best RPGs on Xbox, and definitely the best Star Wars game to date.

Where to start? The games graphics hit you like a slab of granite, square in the middle of the face. This game is the first one for too much of a long time to have a real, REAL feel of the Star Wars universe. The music (obviously) but the great feel of the very essence of the Dark side and Light side of the force is the predominant Star Wars feel in this game. The game play mechanic works like many other RPGs. Bad points now… What bad points??? OK, I am exaggerating, at some points the frame rate is amazingly slow. This (especially in Kashyyk) is a major problem, and can sometimes freeze the game. Not good if you haven’t saved in a while, which brings me on to my next point. The difficulty of the game play depends on how many RPGs you have played. In fact, even without having played other RPGs, the games fighting mechanic is actually very easy to learn and then use- actually knowing why something happens.
There are a massive range of moves and a great amount of good quality force powers on show and the level system that allows you to go up to certain force powers/moves also works very well, and is very easy to get to grips to.
Now this topic deserves a paragraph of its very own… The lightsaber effects!!! The core of any Star Wars oriented games. BioWare have almost got it spot on. The reason being for the ‘almost’ is that it sometimes looks a bit flat. However the sound and colours are perfect.
This game is nothing short of a masterpiece, without a shadow of a doubt. BioWare should be proud of the fact that they have proven to the world that Western developers can make fabulous RPGs, and for simply making one of the finest Star Wars games of all time.
