History of the past revealed...
KOTOR focuses around your character as he embarks on an adventure filled with many, many surprises. You start on a Republic ship that is under attack from the Sith. When you travel through this ship it gives you a basic tutorial which is pretty neat and not very annoying. You end up at the escape pods with Carth Onasi, one of the main characters for the story. When you land on Tarris your first objective is to rescue Bastilla, a jedi with an immense amount of power. After saving her you must leave Tarris and go to Dantooine where you are trained to be a jedi. From there you are given a task to find Malak and something called the Star Forge.
The story is unbelievably solid and striking and will leave the player in awe. This game leaves little replay value however because it is mainly the ending that changes, however the dialogue leaves humor and you can learn more about each person from replaying each time. The game has great graphics, tramendous amounts of weapons, difficulty even in easy mode, and lots of action.
The leveling sytem is better then most RPGs. You can choose from different force power like the infamous force lightning, and my personal favorite force choke. There are various neutral powers, dark side powers, and light side powers. Light side powers are more support, dark side are attack, and the neutral attacks can be either. The sound track is classic. The game alows for hours of game play which can either become more fun each time, or more boring.
On the bad side, there isn't much customization. You pick a face in the beginning then gain different clothes or armor and different weapons. You can edit your light saber but that's only fun for so long. The game also has three mini games, the shooting game on the Ebon Hawk is pretty boring, Pazzak is for anyone who can actually think, and Swoop Racing is a basic race against the clock, dodging mines and going as fast as you can go. These are very boring except for the Swoop Racing, maybe not Pazzak.
There are some some nifty little glitches added though. Like the galaxy bot. The changing of voices from low pitch to high pitch. The alternate ending against Malak. All these were pretty cool or just plain funny.
From all of this KOTOR is a definate buy for a Star Wars fan. It has some bad parts but is a majority of uprising goodyness.
