Exceptionally Cool! Great concept! Great voice acting! Great AI! But I want more!
The concept is really great; that is, commanding your own squad. Everything was handled so well by the game designers:
- the AI is fantastic, so you don't have to worry about the NPCs getting in the way, getting killed in dumb ways, etc.;
-the squad command solution allows for fast, seamless gameplay, without having to interrupt it by accessing detailed menues;
-there is enough to do and enough going on in the game that you don't feel robbed of gameplay by having NPCs do things.
Some other stand-out details:
-the little touches like the energy-wiper blade on the HUD
-GREAT voice acting which really lends to the atmosphere of the game.
The only down-side to this game is I wish it would have been longer. I really hope the ending is a set-up for a sequel.
