If there was ever a game that just made you sit back and go "wow!", this is it. The story line continues where the original left off, with just enough flashback to jog the memory circuits, then you're into the gameplay. Graphics are close enough to the orignal to ease the learning curve, but new enough to be impressive. Old units are just revamped enough to be familiar, yet refreshing at the same time. New units are just plain cool! The missions are just long enough to do what you need to do without dragging on and on in repetitive battles of attrition. Character acting is nothing short of excellent and cinematics are brilliantly done. Some missions allow you a choice of path which adds to replayability. In fact, I'm not even finished my first trip through the campaign and already I'm wondering what would have happened if I'd chosen the "other" path. It's too bad that each faction is being released seperately, because I'm already itching to see the Zerg and Protoss campaigns.

In fact the only negative issue to this game seems to be the ever increasing need to "register" third party "applications" in order to play. "Battlenet" might be needed for on-line or mulitplayer games, but there is absoutely NO necessity to have to create an account in order to play the single player campaign. I feel VERY strongly, that I BOUGHT the game from a retail vendor, and I ought to be able to install form the DVD and play, without having to use "battlenet", "Steam" or any of these other idiotic third party websites/utilities. With all of the legal crap that weighs heavily on pirates, there ought to be a legal injunction blocking game developers and publishers from utilizing this type of "reverse piracy" I bought the damn game. I ought to be able to play it without these types of hassles.
