Today was a very good day for my game collection. Aside from picking up Tony Hawk: AW, my new favorite game store (sorry Gamespot) was having a sale on games: Buy 2 games for $4.99 get a 3rd game free.I opted to re-buy games I had either broken or somehow lost track of. In addition to Deus Ex (broken) and Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver (broken), I bought mu third copy of State of Emergency (lost twice), and felt it fitting to write a review.
To me, SOE is the perfect game to turn off your brain and just play for the sake of playing, not to get to Ultra Super Dragon Level 146 or gain a better perspective of a war of yesteryear. I can literally play this game for hours without realizing the time. I got the game three times, for Muhammed's sake (don't persecute me, people. It's a propeganda war!). Rocktsar must've sprinkled some Vice City pick-up dust on each copy of the game.
The fiirst time I got the game, I was 16 and besides violating the standards of video game rental ethis by merely purchasing the game, was looking for a good game to blow off steam, seeing as how it was pre-GTA Double Pack days. The game did a good job of that.
It's amazing how much action can take place on one tv screen. People are running from everywhere, looting, screaming, and just going ape shitake mushrooms. Said people are also very attractive to fists, furnature, and firearms. If ever there was a game you didn't want your 6 year old to play, this is it..
