Doesn't live up to the first game.
To be honest i wish it wasn't. Here is my main problem with the game...The original Still Life..a game that predates this one by four years...looks a lot better. The character models of this game are unspeakably ugly. The least they could do is stick with the look of the first game . Also, bad voice acting. It literally sounds like they picked up a random high school student to do the voice for some of the characters. While most actors are good, there are some bad that stand out, and really ruin it for everyone. Bad production values overall with this one. If you aren't fit to release a game, then don't!
Also there is this limited inventory system. You can pick only a limited number of items, and you have to store the other ones in lockers, drawers, ect. Worst idea ever! Adventure games can get tedious enough, without this kind of unnecessary obstacles for the player.
At least they answered the wanted question. Who was the killer from the first game? Well to be honest this was a disappointment too. I mean it's not improbable, that he is the killer, it's just not good enough. I expected some revelation, some amazing twist. Guess i expected too much. Well this game get's that out of the way fast, and starts a whole new story about another killer called "The Torturer". If the killer from the first game is inspired by Jack The Ripper, The Torturer is inspired by The Zodiac, and Jigsaw. It also features another playable character, who is captured by the serial killer, and she does all she can to survive.
The storyline is good ,and i wanted to keep going i really did. But there is this stupid inventory system i can't get over it! It's a waste of time, it's there only to annoy you. If it managed to piss me off, I'm sure it would piss other people off too. This combined with ugly characters and bad voice acting, managed to turn me off from this game. No point and click game has done that so far...
