Street Fight Is Better Than Tekken But Worse Than Mortal Kombat.
Okay the Alpha series and the Zero series are supposed to take place before the Street fighter II game. However the storyline doesn't give you the feeling that that is so. In fact it feels like a game after Street Fighter II. I had a hard time accepting this fact. The characters also seemed to be better which means did they become weaker when they grew older? Oh well lets not bother with all these stuff since its a 2D fighter and the typical guy doesn't care about storyline in a fighting game.
Graphics : Yes the graphics looked like they were from an anime or cartoon. These may or may not be good. But I do know that the stages got better and everyone looked better than they did in the previous games.
Sound : Seriously speaking I missed the catchy tunes in Street Fighter 2. Why did that game which became a classic had this 2nd sequel which has inferior music. Not that its bad but its poor compared to the music of Street Fighter 2.
Gameplay : Firstly why are there so many clones in this game? Why are there so many guys who are doing fire balls and upper cuts.
Why don't they at least give some guys projectiles that move on the floor like SNK did ? Also many of my favourite characters were missing from this game. With the most obvious being Vega the spanish Ninja and his air suplex. nstead there is this guy called Guy who resembles him in some way but definately not in moves and style.
As for character balance this game isn't bad but it isn't good either. Although they did make Ryu and Ken weaker they also made some other monsters to be too powerful. Wow in the end people I know only choose Akuma and Chun Li or that big Fat guy with that Mohawk hairstyle. I tried to learn Guy but realised that he is bad for fighting against friends who come in to play.
Compared to Street Fighter Alpha 3 this one has less modes and less characters. When there are few characters clones become more obvious. If you love the fireball trap theory and thinks that they should make games where there are many clones then you will like this game. If not you will find that there is noting really nice about this game.
This game is either great or bad depending on your playing style. But it has really less things to offer compared to Street Alpha 3.
