Arcade Perfect. Nuff Said.
This will be one of my most glowing reviews, but it will probably also be pointless. 99% of gamers already know if they will like this game or not. Street Fighter fans will love it like no other, and RPG and FPS fans probably won’t.
The graphics are as good as they were in the arcade. The sound is also just as good as the original. This is not a port of some console game, but rather a $39.99 version of a game than millions of gamers used to drop $20-$50 a week into. While a plain port can be somewhat disappointing, this game puts what many 20-somethings consider to be a classic arcade experience in the palm of your hand.
The controls are as good and responsive as can be expected with a d-pad. The numerous playable characters, as well as unlockable characters, along with numerous gameplay and challenge modes, give this game countless hours of content. The selectable difficulty and fully customizable button configuration make this game playable for anyone.
All 2D fighting fans will absolutely need to pick up this title. Any gamer curious about the genre would do well to at least rent this game, but I recommend it as a purchase.
If you already know that you don’t like 2D fighters, please don’t buy this game then write a review about how bad you think it is. That makes about as sense as a die-hard MMORPG fanboy reviewing the latest NHL or MLB title. By now, most gamers should already know if they want this game or not, regardless of my praise.
