It's not the best port of Street Fighter II, but oh well.
Story: 8/10
- The storyline is pretty decent and simple. M. Bison throws a tournament and Earth's best warriors are chosen. This is a fighting game; story lines are not a major in these genres.
Gameplay: 8/10
- The gameplay is good but, the control scheme is not as comfortable as the Super Nintendo's. The player engages opponents in 1 on 1 close quarter combat in a series of best 2 out of 3 matches. The objective of each round is to deplete the opponent's vitality before the timer runs out. If both opponents knock each other out at the same time or the timer runs out with both fighters having an equal amount of vitality left, then a "double KO" or "draw game" is declared and additional rounds will be played until sudden death.
Graphics: 9/10
- The graphics for the Sega Genesis version had more details than the Super Nintendo version, but it is not as clear.
Sound: 7/10
- The sound effects sounds crappy compared to the Super Nintendo version. Everybody's voices sound like they have sore throats and the sound effects are not clear. The music is good but, the quality is not as good as the Super Nintendo version.
Overall, I give this game an 8 1/2 out 10. Once again, I just do not know why Sega Genesis games got to look and sound crappy sometimes, separating themselves from their Super Nintendo counterparts!
