This game single handedly revived the 2D fighting genre on the current gen of consoles. You couldn't ask for more (actually you could, but more on that later) from Capcom; they have produced a masterpiece here.

The gameplay is spot on, execution of moves has become easier than past Street Fighters and familiar enough to be comfortable for players coming back from the SNES days on Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Super Street Fighter 2 from 1994.

It is by far the game of the year. I haven't seen such intense competition amongst friends for a long time.

Only gripes are the charging of costume packs (rip off) and lack of a proper lobby system and tournament mode online. This will no doubt be released as DLC in the coming months, however it should have been there from the start.

If you only buy 1 game this year, make it this one.
