More interactive comic than game but that's not a bad thing if you're a fan of the webshow.

User Rating: 8 | Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner WII
SBCGAP:HR is the type of game that typically falls through the cracks ratings wise. Reviewers have to rate it as a game which while technically true is not necessarily fair when putting it up against more in-depth games that have more robust play styles. The game plays more like a interactive comic reminiscent of the old King's Quest game than that of the GTA style games that are so ubiquitous these days.

The game's strong point is it's story and the amount of comic substance the writers threw in to keep the game interesting. One can (and in some cases will be rewarded for) repeat certain mundane things with different results the first couple of times. The staff at Telltale continue quality production skills shown on their other comic project "Sam and Max". However if you are not a fan of the Homestar Runner website then this will probably not make you a fan as it does rely a little heavily on the player's familiarity with the HR universe.

The game's biggest weakness is the weakness of all games of this genre: arbitrary item usage. If you are in a garden party scene and you have a stapler in inventory then you have to figure out that the stapler is used on the barrel in the corner with the paper cut out you got from somewhere odd in another scene. This can be frustrating when you are at a standstill in the game and have to do something odd to progress further in the story. The writers however realize this and even provide an "achievement" and a joke for completing something that doesn't make sense at all in the game.

Another thing I would point out but not necessarily call bad/good would be the voices of the characters. I noticed the character voices sound a bit off from what I was used to from the website.

So is the game worth the $10? My answer would be yes if you are a fan of the HR universe. I feel like about $2 of the total price is a fan tax as $8 would of been a better price point. The game, while not offering much in the way of reflexive style game play, offers a lot in the way of episodic comedy.
