In desperate need of a Sequel... and about 3 times as much length

User Rating: 7.5 | Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse XBOX
Everybody has said that this game takes about 5 to 7 hours, I beat it in about 3 and half hours in co-op. I enjoyed this game immensely, however after beating it, I have pretty much no desire to play it again. And therein lays the problem with Stubbs.

While the gameplay is pretty solid, and hasn't been done by anyone else to date, it's almost too simple(yet it is fun). While most third person games of an action variety have a combo system for melee attacks Stubbs doesn't. Attacking enemies simply becomes an affair of either sending in your army of unholy warriors to soften the bad guys up for you to come over and pull the right trigger until you get a message of "Press Y to eat Civilians Brain". Or you throw in a Pancreas grenade and essentially avoid getting your already dirty hands dirtier. Sure there is an option to possess enemies with your hand, which is pretty versatile in it's abilities, but it's never used in any puzzles and seems like a really cool idea, just not utilized. Then there is the head bowling... it's neat and useful in a couple of situations and is quite humorous to watch him replace it, but doesn't really, again feel like it's necessary. Although the unholy flatulence is quite handy.

This game is in an awkward position, it's fun, funny, and original, but seems to lack the prowess to utilize it's own ideas as far as gameplay is concerned.

I have no complaints in the visual department save for one: It is entirely too dark. Apart from the first 2 levels, this game is surprisingly hard to see.

Overall this game is just begging for a sequel, which will hopefully flesh out some of the uniqueness to be properly used, along with at least 10 hours of gameplay.
