Or, should I say, it's great for the folks who like to think that III never happened. The whole bit with the ship being your base is a refreshing change, but I really dislike the way the ship ends up being laid out. Gameplay's fine, they fixed the battle system, so I'm cool. That said, The whole suikoden edge of having fifty bajillion characters is back, with quite a few notable faces for those of us who are already familiar with the series as a whole. All in all, it's a good buy if you can find it for relatively cheap. It's not a great intro to the series as V is expected to be, but it's all around a good buy.
