Summer Sports is at its best uninspired and lacking depth!

User Rating: 3 | Summer Sports: Paradise Island WII
Summer Sports: Paradise Island was a game that I very much looked forward to adding to my vast video game collection despite articles of how much polish it lacked! I must say that although this game incorporates a few original game ideas into the Wii franchise, it isn't worth the time or money put into it. Summer Sports features 7 games, that all have major flaws and to say unpolished is an over statement! Now, you may be thinking that it would be a great game to buy your children or for a lazy afternoon. All I can say is that you should really reconsider. I am in no way shape or form biased to any particular console, and the Wii has put out several great games. If you are looking for a decent game with multiple mini games to play, something amongst the lines of Mario and Sonic Olympic Games which is a much better buy! I would even suggest Carnival Games... To put this game in a better perspective, the best game featured is horseshoes, which is the only game that does not feel entirely broken. The controls are at times ultra sensitive and at others it seems you can't even move! Don't let the games it features fool you, they may be good ideas, and it has the potential to be a much better game, but it feels unrefined and very gritty. I thought that mini-golf would be the best game, but the controls for that game are intensely flawed! Although I gave this game a 3 instead of a 2 simply for the fact that mini-golf made me laugh harder than any game I have EVER played! Only problem is, it was not for the right reasons. It was simply because the game play was so horrible it got to the point where laughing was all you can really do!
Bottom line is, this game is best for collectors or a rental at best! If you are looking for fun.... this isn't the game!
