Well... it's something quite new at least

Making your own weapons and then using them is an interesting idea, but the novelty factor quickly wears off and you'll find yourself stuck in a repetitive dungeon crawler. The story however is solid and can be played through multiple times for different and amusing results. There's 4 guardian beasts and 2 gender options (were you expecting more) and the mixtures of those spice up the storyline but doesn't fundamentally change it. Oh word of advice, don't pick Rasho as the guardian beast, unless you're into wanna be bad ass jerks that desperately needs a haircut. Boss battles are extremely fun, although the same can't be said for regular opponents. Even though the game only takes place in a few towns and caves, you'll find that it's enough. Overall the game is something worth picking up if you want a change of pace from the standard rpg formula.
