Remember when RPGs were fun with stilled battles and waiting commands? If you answered yes than you got to be living in a cave. Summon Night is a cooky fun RPG that makes Tales of Phantasia's battle system work. The story begins with you about to enter a tournament that will decide the next craftlord; a sort of protecter of the worlds balence. But don't think this story is just average "save the world" adventure because this does contain twists, humor, and a little lesbianizm. But pushing that aside the game consist of you making weapons, kicking ass in the tournament and saving to world from a soon to be threat. The gameplay is just like ive said before: a Tales type battle system that works really well. Its fast paced but will require fast reflexes so you better not think that this is a FF ripoff or else a slime might be laughing its ass off at your corpse. You have to make weapons to fight with like the usual swords, axes and drills. Now about the humor...Its much like atlus's quota for wierd crap. Lets check them off the list shall we:
1.A Farie who can't get the sideways monster mash outta her mind. Check
2.People who don't seem to show which gender they are. check
3.Touching[and by touching i mean for the furrys] conversations by the harbor with a flying, punching, pokemon like creature. CHECK
The whole dungion crawling for materials gets sorta old after some time but the story and gameplay are worth it.
This game is what Tales of Phantasia should have been like so if you like wierdness than definatly buy this game.
