Sunset Overdrive is a game that should be a blast to play. It doesn't take itself too seriously and keeps the mood light with amusing dialog. Unfortunately, you also have to learn to play the game. You get virtually no instruction on what to do beyond the first few minutes of the game. They throw every mechanic in the game at you in about 15 minutes and expect you to remember it all (and it's a LOT).
The controls are the worst I've ever seen in a game. There are so many flaws with the movement and control scheme (which is locked down so you can't change anything) they're too numerous to list. If play games 12 hours a day, you probably won't have any problems with it. If not, expect to spend a LOT of time trying to master this game (like years).
The game forces you to stay in constant motion so there's absolute no opportunity to explore the huge world of the game. You're so busy trying not to get overrun by hordes of enemies, there's no time for any of that. The pace is tiring and ultimately annoying.
I'd recommend staying away from this one unless you're a pretty hardcore 3rd person shooter person. After 10 hours of play, I'm nearly at the point of giving up. When even making progress in a game isn't fun any more, it's time to call it quits.
