Despite its surprising difficulty, it's a surprisingly good game!

Prior to this game, I never got the fuss for what the hype about all of the "Castlevania" games were about, nor did I understand it. Now that I have thoroughly played and beaten this game; I can now safely say that I understand why this video game is highly praised on the original Super NES. The sound, music, graphics, and controls are all finely tuned to perfection! You can either get through this game with just a whip, or pick up one of the various weapons you can collect from candles to take out the various enemies you face along the way! This game makes very good use of the Mode 7 technology (even if it doesn't REALLY make sense for some of the areas in the game that USE it). And speaking of your whip, the whip is not just good for attacking, it can also be used to grab onto floating rings, so that Simon Belmont (the main protagonist character) can swing from one far-away ledge to another! The main thing I was surprised about, was the surprise length and difficulty of this game. I was under the belief that this was one of those games that was short and yet VERY difficult! But to my surprise, the game ended up having quite a substantial length, but was STILL fairly difficult! It's definitely one of those games you want to remember the various strategies the bosses use, how the level stages are laid out, where the various enemies appear in the level, and plan your strategies accordingly. Dracula will not make it easy for Simon Belmont to save the day; but when you do, the reward of beating the final boss makes the video game feel SO satisfying to beat! I highly recommend playing this game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition if you haven't already! Enough said, true believers!
