So the game starts out with a letter from Princess Toadstool(she ws Toadstool before Peach) inviting Mario to the castle for some cake. But when Mario gets to the castle, he finds that all the inhabitants of the castle have been trapped in the walls by Bowser. The only thing Mario can do is jump into magical paintings that send him to different, extrordinary worlds to collect Power Stars. These Power Stars unlock more doors for Mario. More doors=more Power Stars. There are a total amount of 120 Power Stars in Super Mario 64. Most of these power stars are found in levels, however there is a portion of secret stars. There are 15 incredibly beautiful worlds that Mario will have to go to and collect power stars. Each level has 6 stars that it tells you to get, all levels give you a star if you collect 100 coins in that level, and some levels have secret stars. Sometimes you can even find stars outside of levels. There are three Bowser battles in this game and you get rewards for beating each one. When you beat the first Bowser battle, you get a key leading to the downstairs part of the castle. When you beat the second Bowser battle, you get a key leading to the upstairs part of the castle. And when you beat the third Bowser battle, you find Princess Toadstool, she kisses Mario, you go inside, and the credits roll. This game is so good that it will still be a fun adventure 10 even 20 years after you complete it. If you missed this masterpiece back in the N64 days, you should hunt it down or download it off of the Wii's Virtual Console. This game will not dissapoint.
