This must be the best Mario game to me. The only thing I hate is reaching the last Bowser. Bowser is the arch nemesis of Mario who always appear in every single Mario game.(Except Donkey kong vs Mario) These are the mario games I know and Mario 64 tops them all

-Super Mario 64
-Paper Mario/Paper Mario the thousand year door(This is a boss game!)
-Mario Party
-Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 & 3
-Luigi`s mansion
-Donkey Kong vs Mario(this is the lamest)
-Mario Kart/Mario Kart Super Circuit/Mario Kart Double Dash
-Mario & Luigi superstar saga
-Yoshi island Advance

These Mario games I`m not sure cause I haven`t play them yet

-Super Mario Sunshine
-New Super mario Bros.
-Yoshi Island DS
-Super Mario 64 remake for Wii

Super mario 64 starts of with Mario popping out of a Pipe(original) Princess Peach gets kidnapped(once again) Now mario must enter different dimensions and face Bowser!
THIS GAME IS THE BOSS!

  A great returning classic, this shouldn't be bashed for graphics and such.
