If you've played it on the N64, you've played it on the Wii. Still a testament to our gaming heritage.

Wow this takes me back. Actually not that back. I finally played the game last fall and I loved it, but be warned; The original is different than SM64DS, so if you've played the DS one but not the original N64 one, download this.

This has to be the only game on the entire Virtual Console game that translates near perfect to a Gamecube controller. Except for the Z button. Then again, all it's good for is a display button (heads up, in SM64 it's for croutching, which will happen alot in this game...). The 3 pronged N64 controller's got nothing on this. Except for the Z button.

Gameplay wise, for old school gamers, level design will seem ingenious! But to those younger yuppies, it is going to seem so very cliche. Take a tip kids; most modern platforners are a rip-off of this. Okay, not so much now as 1997-2000, but this still applies. The game proceeds in a mission select style and was one of the first non-linear titles of its time. You do more wall jumpin' than Goomba stompin', but you will be entertained. Though, if you are like me, you will be disturbed by how many realistic birds there are in this game... and one bunny.
